2月22日 getting settled...Well, it's been awhile but it feels like we've lived in a whirlwind since Christmas. Skylar moved to Invermere the day after we returned from holidays, the same day our house went on the market and was sold that very night after the very first showing. What a HUGE blessing and relief. I continued to work full-time till January 31st, then a day later packed up the rest of the house and made the move to our 'new home', as Theo calls it. We're getting settled in and I'm enjoying staying home with Theo. At this point we're enjoying quiet evenings and weekends. Skylar really enjoys his work as well. I'll do a work entry soon. And it's only 3 weeks and a few days before the baby is expected to arrive. Hard to believe it's already that time. 12月18日 2nd birthdayHard to believe he's 2. He really enjoyed various birthday festivities, first a White family birthday, then out to McDonalds and Happy Feet (which he proved he was too young for) then a friends birthday party. He knows how to say 'birthday' so much so that when his sitter took him to the pet store the people there sang Happy Birthday to him. He's been enjoying his gifts this week... 10月9日 hockeyTheo's new favourite word and activity....hockey. He seems to know that the NHL season is back in full swing. Sunday morning, 7am he was standing at Skylar's side of the bed with his 2 hockey sticks and puck, ready to play. We've discovered that the older he gets the worse we are at taking pictures. Yesterday we had an extended family dinner...and we didn't take a single picture. Sigh. 9月10日 newsWell, we have a couple pieces of news...one is that baby #2 is on the way. I suppose most of you may know that by now, but if you haven't heard, there it is. Baby is due to arrive late March. Next, it looks as though we'll be moving. Moving to Invermere, BC. Sky has a fabulous job opportunity, not one to easily pass up anyhow. So, it looks like Sky will be headed out that way right after we spend New Years in Ontario with my family. I will follow in February, once my mat leave starts. The future has many questions. We are SO thankful that we are able to follow as God open and closes doors in our lives. To know HE continues with us each step of the way is great comfort. God is in control... It will be hard to move into a new community, have a baby there and get settled. I already feel this as a stretching experience. I need to remind myself to live in today, not the future. THIS is the day. 9月4日 summers overWell, the summer is over, and it's been a busy one. My parents and sister were out for visit for about a week at the beginning of August. The 2nd weekend in August we went camping with the Whites in the Kananaskis and it was CHILLY!!! Theo only wanted to play in the car...while wearing his toque and mitts. Believe it or not, we are the worst picture takers ever. We have only a few pictures of August, yet lots happened. We attended 2 toddler birthday parties. Lots of fun. We went to the zoo. We also had a live in sitter for a week in August. That was GREAT. Theo enjoyed staying home and got lots of sleep in. Now I can't think of what else happened. But Theo is starting to talk, new words every day. We can actually communicate!!! 7月23日 gramsSky's Grams passed away in her sleep the night of July 21st. She would have been 90 on September 4th. We miss you Grams! campingLast weekend we went camping to Sunset Beach, near Rimbey, AB. We headed out early Saturday morning and it was a HOT day. Theo loved the beach as well as the playground. He loved being in the outdoors and having his parents spend all their time with him, not having to attend to household duties. I think he likes camping. 7月9日 marathon - in honour of uncle gordSky ran his first HSBC full marathon this morning. He finished in 4:44:37. His body aches...but he did good. backyardWell, here's a few pictures of the backyard...a few things have changed since they were taken. The old, leaf-less lilac bush (stick) is replaced by a healthy looking lilac bush, thanks to my in-laws. Also, the sunflowers and lettuce is no longer standing due to the hail storm we had. 7月3日 mini golfYesterday we had a great day with the Campagnes and the Dycks. Had a BBQ then out to mini golf. Theo made it through the course and was quite amused by the similarity, yet differences from the hockey stick and puck. 6月29日 trip to ontarioTheo and I spent a short 7 days in Ontario. Theo had tonnes of fun running around the yard. Pushing the stroller, with a soccer ball in it, seemed to be his favourite. He's got several scabs from falling and looking at balls behind him, through his legs. He also went on his first boat trip to the fishing resort I worked at in Ontario. He loved it and promptly fell asleep during the ride. He also enjoyed the flight to and from Winnipeg. On the way back to Calgary he fell asleep during take off. A fun time with family and friends. 6月17日 18 monthsWell, on the 15th Theo turned 18 months. Hard to believe. It was a rough day for him, with teething, a cold and shots. Not a happy camper. In general he's a happy, very energetic boy who now loves to pick up his little hockey stick and shoot the puck around the living room floor. He's starting to talk and even said 'OILER' the other day, much to his dad's exciement. Theo and I are looking forward to a flight to Ontario for 8 days. Now that we've moved closer to the airport Theo has taken great interest in planes, we'll see what he thinks of the airport! kitchenWell, the kitchen is nearing completion. Still need a new hood fan, grouting done on the countertop...and 2 doors (that you can't see in the picture.) Feels good to have cupboard doors. 5月8日 Before/AfterFinally I have some pictures for you to see. We still haven't hung a painting in the living room and some other walls are quite bare...it's just taking some time.
You'll have to use some imagination. For the kitchen, imagine white doors with silver hardware, and imagine white bi-fold doors in front of the pantry. And we still don't have knobs on the closet doors. Sigh... 4月29日 movedWell, we've moved. We're happy to be in our new place. The week after possession was a CRAZY week. Thankfully my mom and aunt were out to help. (Some friends were here to help on the Saturday and Monday as well.) My aunt was Theo's full-time nanny, while my mom and I were full-time painters. We put on the last coat Friday afternoon and moved Saturday morning. There's still lots to do, so you'll have to wait a little longer for before/after pictures. Hopefully by next weekend. Although the kitchen will not be done yet as we're redoing the doors. But you'll at least get an idea of what we've done. The move was a little rough on Theo with all the running around, all the people and such. On 2 occaisions he cried/screamed for an hour. A cry I've never heard from him. But he's settling in and enjoying all the roaming space and the windows. 4月7日 drummer or guitarist???Well, Theo's uncle came back from Mexico with a ukelele for him. So, Theo's been walking around the house working at his strumming. He seems to really enjoy it...so the question is the drums or guitar?? 3月20日 1st swimming adventureYesterday we took Theo to the pool. He was ecstatic...until he went under a couple times, then he was not so sure. By the end he really enjoyed it, especially a dip in the hot tub. 3月13日 1st hair cutTheo had his first hair cut yesterday morning, and he didn't mind a bit. He sure needed a bit of a trim. 3月8日 Play DateTheo had a play date this afternoon with Kaelie and Koen. It's amazing how they've grown up and play together...or alongside each other. They spent a lot of time going up and down the stairs 'talking' to each other. A picture of when they're babies...fast forward to today. 2月27日 Gramps' 90th Birthday!!!On Saturday we went to a birthday party for Sky's grandpa. He turned 90!!! His memory is failing him at an increasing rate but he is still cheerful and mobile and happily married to Grams who will be turning 90 soon as well. We took this occaision to take some 4 generation pictures. |
